Rare sighting at Lake Jennings, Peregrine Falcon

The Peregrine Falcon is not often seen in San Diego but has been making its grand reappearance at Lake Jennings for the past month.  We are hoping that the Peregrine is making a comeback since they have declined over the past decade and today Tim “Nature Guy” captured a photo of this spectacular falcon.  The Peregrines are natures fastest fliers and have been clocked diving at almost 220 miles per hour.  They feed primarily on birds taken from the air and historically have been called the “Duck Hawk”.  Visit Lake Jennings on the weekend and pack a lunch, camera, video or binoculars and you may be the next to say “Yes, I’ve seen the Peregrine Falcon at Lake Jennings”.
