Fish Report
For Immediate Catch and Release
May 24, 2010

Hello from your Lake Jennings! Our first weekend of night fishing was just fair as changing weather put the chill on both the fish and angler enthusiasm. The backs of the coves produced about one catfish per angler. The bass were very tough. Trout were caught mostly by accident on mackerel.

Best Trout Spots: Middle of the lake and the concrete steps.

Best Trout Bait: Drifted crawlers.

Best Catfish Spots:
The bird trees.

Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel or nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: 25 ft on all the points.

Best Bass Lures/Bait: Mudsuckers and d/s 4” morning dawn worms.

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. or limits under 1 hour.

Prognosis: The early season night fishing pattern for channel cats is always fish shallow in the brush and the backs of the coves.

Water Temperature: 67 degrees on surface.

Holiday Weekend Schedule: Lake Jennings will be open this Friday from 5:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m., Saturday from 5:30 a.m. - 12:00 a.m., Sunday from 5:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. and Monday (Memorial Day) from 5:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
