Fish Report
For Immediate Catch and Release
June 20, 2010
Print Version

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: If this report seems familiar, it is. A bad back prohibits me from sitting to long. There really have not been any changes except for 2 notables whose names should be familiar. They have a pattern that continues to produce for them. Catfishing is the best bet. Fish the brush and the backs of the Coves with chicken livers. Finally some topwater action for the bass very early and just about dark in the backs of the coves. First angler in gets the bites. 1 or 2 per cove. A frog on the mats and over the downed trees….

Best Cat Spots: Siesta, Half Moon & Hermit Coves.
Best Cat Bait: Chicken livers or nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally
Best Bass Spots: 25 ft on all the points.
Best Bass Lures /bait: mudsuckers and d/s 4” morning dawn worms.
Water Temp. 67 degrees on surface.

Notables: Sat., John Visser and grandson Jake Alirez, Lemon Grove, 10 cats, Hermit Cove buoyline, Sat., Jackie Hale, Lakeside, 7-8 largemouth, mudsuckers, Hermit Cove.

Prognosis: The early season night fishing pattern for channel cats is always fish shallow in the brush and the backs of the coves.
