Fish Report
For Immediate Catch and Release
July 18, 2010

Hello from your Lake Jennings! Fishing has been the cat's meow. The bass bite isn't. The occasional red ear is showing up, but if you're lucky you might catch 2 or 3. So you want to concentrate on cats. Chicken livers are still the preferred bait with other morsels a distant second… Coves are still the best but good catches in deeper water are also starting to happen.

Best Catfish Spots: Eagle, Cloister, and Hermit Coves.

Best Catfish Bait: Chicken livers or nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: 25 ft on all the points

Best Bass Lures/Bait: Mudsuckers and d/s 4" morning dawn worms.

Notables: Fri., Juan Herrera, El Cajon, 14-2 channel cat, Cloister Cove, mackerel.

Prognosis: This week's forecast is for more HOT weather. Mid-90's all week. I think that the fishing will act accordingly. There is a reason why bass, sunfish, and cats are called "warmwater fish."

Water Temperature: 78 degrees on surface.

Current Schedule: Fri. @ 5:00 PM closes for fishing at 12:00AM, Sat. @ 5:30 AM closes for fishing at 12:00 AM, Sun. @ 5:30 AM closes for fishing at 8:30 PM, Night fishing every Friday and Saturday until Labor Day.
